I am a fifth-year PhD student in Linguistics at UC Santa Cruz. Stated broadly, my research interests are in formal semantics and the indigenous languages of Mesoamerica (especially Mayan languages). On my best days I am able to work in both areas at once. I am also interested in typological and corpus-based approaches to semantics.

Some of my current research focuses are:
  • plurality and pluractionality
  • distributivity
  • Mayan prosody and prosodic morphology
  • pragmatics of quantifiers scope disambiguation
  • appositives and projective meaning
